We didn't build Kangoo assuming we knew how languages are learned. We built it on what research has already shown works.
About us
Kangoo was built to solve a problem every traditional language course ignores: knowing grammar isn't the same as being able to speak. It started with a team passionate about learning and technology, building a way to learn based on real conversation practice, with AI, not rote memorization. Today, Kangoo is a global reality.
Mission
To give anyone the confidence to speak another language in a real situation, not just pass a test. We believe confidence is built by practicing real conversation, with spaced repetition and instant correction.
Science
A 2025 study measured real confidence gains in people who practiced AI conversation. Our spaced repetition engine uses the same Half-Life Regression model published by Duolingo: it estimates how forgotten each specific word is, for each person.
